Benjamin Britten A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Blackwater Valley Opera Festival takes place from 25 May – 1 June 2026, hosting 23 events at 12 historic homes and venues across the Blackwater Valley.
Mozart’s Don Giovanni hurtles between comedy, danger, and seduction as a notorious libertine pursues pleasure until vengeance and justice close in. From a deadly duel to a ghostly reckoning, this thrilling masterpiece unfolds in the historic stable yards of Lismore Castle, igniting with sharp humour, beauty, and a touch of the supernatural. Staged by the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival 2026, this production brings together a stellar cast featuring Jolyon Loy, Andrew Murphy, Amy Ní Fhearraigh, Gavan Ring, Carolyn Holt, Dominic Veilleux, Aimee Kearney, and Valerian Ruminsky, accompanied by the Irish Baroque Orchestra and the BVOF Chorus.
Concerts at the semi-restored, 18th century Dromore Yard will feature Niamh O’Sullivan and Gary Beecher; Magdalene Ho, Elias David Moncado, and Pierre Génisson; Dearbhla Collins and Finghin Collins, with a full recitals programme, and free events in Lismore, Dungarvan, Youghal, and Castlemartyr Resort.
