ESPA Back, Face & Scalp Treatment

June 12, 2014

The ESPA Back, Face and Scalp Massage is a wonderfully indulgent treatment and should be enjoyed by all at The Spa at Castlemartyr Resort.

Tanya was my therapist for the evening and began the treatment with a skin consultation as with all our ESPA Spa Treatments. Renowned as our ‘Hero’ treatment and loved by all; this ESPA experience delivers triple results by targeting three key areas - the back, the face and the scalp, making it the ideal treatment for anyone. This luxurious back, face and scalp treatment starts with a cleansing of the back, followed by exfoliation and a soothing back massage to ease away stress and tension. Tanya used the Exfoliating Body Polish for the exfoliation which is a refreshing exfoliator for body, formulated to gently sweep away dry, rough skin while it cools and conditions. Refining Apricot Seed Kernels gently exfoliate to help sweep dull cells away, Spearmint cools and refreshes, while Aloe Vera hydrates, nourishes and conditions for an instantly revitalised, smoother finish. The exfoliation of the back removed the dead skin cells for better absorption of the oil during the massage. The back massage was tailored to the perfect pressure for me which is deep and certainly helped remove some knots in my shoulder area. As I continued to relax, I was treated to a hydrating facial with a therapeutic scalp massage to calm my mind. Tanya began the treatment by analysising my skin using the ESPA Skin Vision Lamp. This UV light highlights skin conditions that may not otherwise be closely seen and as a result she determined that I required a hydrating facial. The facial included a cleanse, exfoliation, face massage and mask before the application of serums and moisturisers. While the mask was left to work its magic I was treated to a soothing scalp massage which allowed me to unwind even further which I thought was not possible. At this stage I felt extremely relaxed and the stresses of week were long forgotten. The total treatment time was one hour and 30 minutes and I found the combination of the massage and facial allowed me to really relax and unwind. It was the perfect amount of time as I was not disappointed it was over as I often am after an hour treatment but very satisfied after 90 minutes of pure pampering. It allows you to enjoy the best of both when you visit a spa as sometimes I cannot choose between a facial and a massage. If you are looking to treat yourself this summer try out the ESPA Back, Face and Scalp Massage at The Spa at Castlemartyr Resort. I promise you won't be disappointed.
