Castlemartyr Resort has added an exciting fourth dining option to what is fast becoming Ireland’s most popular “staycation” property. Franchini’s Italian Restaurant quite literally answers Ireland’s call offering an affordable and casual dining experience in the uncompromised beauty of this spectacular resort. This restaurant is very much of its time providing exceptional food offered with competitive prices and value for money that we all expect today.

The stylish dining room at Franchini’s is laced in contemporary design creating a bespoke yet relaxing atmosphere wrapped in the splendid grandeur of the resort. The balance works immaculately. The impeccably choreographed team of waiters seemed surprisingly at home for the opening night providing a personable and efficient service.

The fresh and vibrant menu offers a panoply of mouth watering dishes. A tasteful selection including Pasta’s, Risottos, Pizza’s and Seafood await. I opted to begin with grilled mozzarella bruschetta with basil and red chilli dressing. I found myself smiling after the first bite and knew that I was in for something special. The flavours were crisp, distinguished and wonderfully harmonious. The main course followed shortly after, I choose the Crispy Chicken Milanese. I rarely order chicken, however I was intrigued by this Milan style option. Beautifully presented the dish did not disappoint. Incredibly appetizing, the succulent butterflied chicken was wonderfully complimented by whole grain mustard sauce and warm potato salad. Achieving gastronomic excellence, Franchini’s has changed my perception of chicken. Simply outstanding. A light Truffle Oil Mayonnaise that accompanied a side of wedges was mind blowing. Of course after enjoying a sensational starter and main course I was not about to pass dessert by. I ordered the warm chocolate brownies with caramelized hazelnuts and white chocolate ice cream. The final course was in keeping with its predecessors, magnificent. Small touches including the tasteful wood platters with their very own “Castlemartyr Wood” logo as well as the listed local suppliers assist in making this relaxed and casual dining experience feel positively special.

Executive Chef Kevin Burke has done an incredible job in putting together this simple yet innovative menu and can be very proud in presideing over the splendid Gourmet “Bell Tower” restaurant and has now added this to his achievements, the sublime Italian Restaurant “ Franchini’s”

3 Course Menu averages at €30 per person.
