The Castlemartyr Resort Green Policy
The Castlemartyr Resort is aware of its legal, ethical, environmental, as well as social responsibilities and is an active participant in Ireland’s Green Hospitality Programme.
In participating in the programme, we strive as members to protect and promote local biodiversity, buy locally where possible and encourage guests to use local "green" businesses and services. Our guests are encouraged to adopt a responsible approach to the environment without reducing the quality or enjoyment of their visit.
Our employees are encouraged and expected to implement best environmental practice within the Resort. As members in the programme, we prepare annual plans and set targets to reduce the waste of scarce resources especially energy.
In our first year of sustainable environmental management the Castlemartyr Resort was granted the Green Hospitality Silver Award. The resort is aiming to improve this score and go for gold over the coming years.
Caring for our surroundings, supporting the local community and being an environmentally friendly hotel, without diminishing the luxury that our guests expect when visiting us, is a fine balancing act and our participation in the Green Hospitality Programme is an integral part of our Corporate Responsibility Programme.
